El Valor Hits a Hole-in-one at Inaugural "Reach for the Future" Golf Outing

A hundred fun-loving golfers with a penchant for helping others converged at Harborside International Golf Center for El Valor's inaugural Reach for the Future Golf Outing. "We certainly hit a hole-in-one with the success of El Valor's first golf outing," stated Saul Robles, First Vice President with the LaSalle Bank Metropolitan Banking Group, and the event's Chair. "The community is growing at a rapid rate and El Valor is addressing its ever increasing needs. El Valor requires additional funding to maintain and expand its programs. We are grateful that the business community has joined us in this effort by participating in this golf outing."

When Mr. Robles suggested a golf outing as a fundraiser, Vincent Allocco, El Valor President, said "Golf? That's not El Valor!" but witnessing the enthusiasm of the Board, Vince agreed. Dr. Allocco was happily proven wrong as 100 golfers showed their support despite the brisk, windy Chicago weather. Golfers included former Chicago Bear - # 55 Otis Wilson, McPier CEO Leticia Peralta Davis and Exelon Corporation's Gary Snodgrass.

We thank all of our partners that helped make the "Reach for the Future" Golf Outing a success through financial and in-kind donations. We especially want to thank event sponsors Exelon/ComEd, MetLife Financial Services, Microsoft, LaSalle Bank, Mancari's Chrysler Jeep and Misako.

After the event, Dr. Allocco stated, "There are hundreds of families on our waiting lists. The support shown through this event by the business community was wonderful. We need to nurture all of our relationships and continue to expand our network of friends."
