PROGRAM PURPOSE: The El Valor/National-Louis University (NLU) community-based Master of Business Administration
(MBA) program was created to increase the pool of managerial talent from historically underrepresented populations in
American society that is available to address the needs of public and private sector organizations. This partnership brings
together El Valor, a non-profit community organization committed to the promotion of inclusiveness through educational
opportunity and the internationally accredited NLU Master of Business Administration program.
REQUIREMENTS: The NLU community-based MBA program at El Valor is intended for individuals with proven academic ability, strong managerial potential, and a professional mission that is consistent with the program purpose. Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or an equivalent degree from a recognized
non-U.S. university, and to apply and meet all admission requirements of the NLU MBA program. Prospective
students will be evaluated in terms of academic credentials (including a writing assessment), work experience, organizational/
community involvement, presentation of individual qualifications, and letters of reference. Those accepted into the
program are expected to participate as a cohort and attend all courses together until completion.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE, SCHEDULING, AND LOCATION: The program consists of 13 courses (37 semester hours) of instruction. Each class session is four hours. Classes will meet either during the week in the evenings and/or
all day Saturday or just mornings. With National-Louis University's cohort program you'll register only once at the
start of your program, get a locked-in tuition rate, and know your entire class schedule upfront. You'll go through the
program with the same diverse group of 20 students providing a supportive learning environment and a rich network
of peer professionals.
COST: Tuition for the MBA degree program per credit hour is $580 and covers all tuition, fees, textbooks, and other
course materials. With El Valor’s 25% discount, the cost per credit hour is $435. There are no additional costs. You may
select from multiple payment plans. Financial aid is available to students who are eligible for Federal Loan Programs.
