El Valor is honored to have received the designation of Associate Partner with the White House Initiative (WHI) on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans Partners in Education collaboration. This designation stemmed from a nomination process by the Partners in Education's founding partners. It was awarded in recognition of El Valor's leadership and specialization in Early Childhood Education within the Latino community. The Partners in Hispanic Education initiative brings together the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans and some of the nation's leading Hispanic organizations, corporate leaders and national private entities in working to improve education for Hispanics in the United States.
The goal is to empower the Hispanic community, by equipping families with educational tools and resources to assist them in becoming stronger advocates for their children's education - from early childhood through college. The Partners work with local communities to reinforce positive expectations that include: educational excellence,
engagement of the business community, accountability and enrollment in college.
The Partners in Education team of collaborators includes: the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans; United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation; Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU); National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP); National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) and the National Society of Hispanic MBA's (NSHMBA).
El Valor is the only community-based organization in this 20 member partnership. WHI is a bipartisan initiative that has been in existence for the last three administrations. The Initiative serves as a resource for information relating to the closing of the educational achievement gap of Hispanic Americans.
