Programs
Supporting People with Disabilities  El Valor believes that individuals who are physically and/or mentally challenged are vital members of the community. El Valor is committed to assisting and supporting adults with disabilities through programs that emphasize personal choice, employment, inclusion and enrichment.
Vocational Development, Supported, and Competitive Employment Programs provide access to employment opportunities. The programs focus on strengthening vocational, socialization, and communication skills to prepare individuals with disabilities for employment opportunities. Development Training for adults who have greater physical and developmental challenges, provides training in areas such as communication, socialization, life enrichment, recreational skills, and vocational skills. The primary aim of the program is to increase the individual's independence, self-esteem and integration into the community. Through six residential homes in the Chicagoland area, adults with developmental disabilities live independently and participate in the community. Independence and choice in everyday life are maximized utilizing existing social networks and community links. El Valor |
