Although the latest research findings demonstrate the importance of early education to lifelong achievement, many families in urban communities are unaware of this. El Valor is spreading the message that the first three years are the most critical years in development, and that parents are their children's most important teachers.
The Public Awareness Campaign was developed In partnership with the McCormick Tribune Foundation, the Ad Council, and volunteers from Leo Burnett, and The Bravo Group. El Valor is now in phase III of the "Parents as First Teachers" Public Awareness Campaign. This national campaign establishes awareness of the importance of early education and parental involvement to the future success of children. The campaign includes a series of Spanish and English language Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that are distributed nationally to television, radio, and print media. The campaign has garnered over $100 million in donated air time.
To further promote the message about the importance of early childhood development, El Valor in partnership with the McCormick Tribune Foundation, produced Mis Padres, Mis Maestros/My Parents, My Teachers, a bilingual educational video for parents. A parent educator Resource Kit was also developed for early child care educators to enhance the healthy growth and development of children.
With the distribution of our early child care materials, we have provided parents, and parent educators with an important tool to enhance the healthy growth and development of young children.
El Valor believes that the future success of our children depends on placing education at the center of the lives of our children and the lives of our communities. For more information about our Public Awareness Campaign, please contact:
